Mercedes Oil Leak Repair in Dubai

Oil spots under your Mercedes, an oily engine bay or a burning smell need the source checked. We locate the leak and quote the gasket, seal, housing or line repair that addresses it.

STAR diagnostics support the physical checks where warning messages or engine operation are involved. Leak assessment estimates are AED 200–350; an accessible valve-cover gasket repair is typically AED 500–1,000, excluding VAT.

What will the oil leak repair cost?

WorkPlanning estimateWhat the estimate covers
Leak assessmentAED 200–350Inspection of accessible areas, fluid identification and an initial report; extensive cleaning or additional tracing quoted if needed.
Accessible valve-cover gasketAED 500–1,000Gasket, removal and refitting of one accessible cover, cleaning of the repair area and a leak recheck. A damaged cover is extra.
Accessible lower oil-pan resealAED 600–1,200Seal or sealant, straightforward pan access, labor and recheck. Oil and filter replacement, upper-pan work or subframe removal are separate.
Timing-cover leak repairAED 900–1,800A localized, accessible sealing repair. Extensive front-cover removal or timing-system work requires a separate quote.
Accessible oil-cooler line repairAED 700–1,500The identified accessible line or seal, fitting and recheck. Cooler replacement, buried seals and significant fluid loss change the scope.
Rear main seal or major-access leakVehicle-specific quoteAccess can require transmission or other major component removal. The seal price alone does not represent the fitted repair cost.

Planning estimates in AED, excluding VAT; these are not fixed MercGarage tariffs. These ranges apply to the stated accessible repairs, not every Mercedes engine. Diagnosis is listed separately; the quote states whether it is additional or credited. Replacement housings, unrelated leaks, major dismantling and required fluid service are included only when itemized. The written quote confirms the vehicle-specific scope, total and VAT before work starts. The first-service offer is not deducted from these estimates.

Describe the leak and tell us your Mercedes model. We can discuss a sensible repair budget before arranging the assessment.

The drip location is not always the leak source

Oil can travel along an engine surface or collect in an undertray before it reaches the floor. Replacing the part directly above a drip without tracing the oil can leave the real leak untouched.

We inspect the wet area and the components above it, check the fluid involved and look for a fresh leak path. Cleaning, an operating check or suitable leak-tracing methods may be needed if old residue obscures the source. The useful outcome is a specific repair recommendation, not a list of every seal on the engine.

A leak near the engine and gearbox joint needs particular care. It should not automatically be called a rear main seal: oil from a higher component can reach the same area. Where major dismantling is proposed, we explain what the inspection has established and what remains to be confirmed.

The repair depends on what is leaking

Gasket or seal replacement

A worn seal can sometimes be replaced while keeping a sound cover, pan or housing. The surrounding surfaces and fasteners also need checking so the new seal has the right conditions to work.

Cover or housing replacement

If a cover is distorted, cracked or incorporates a failed component, another gasket alone may not solve the problem. The quotation should distinguish the replacement assembly from a seal-only job.

Oil-cooler and line work

A leaking accessible oil line differs from seals buried under other components. Access, the affected fluid circuit and whether the cooler itself needs replacing determine the work. We identify the component in the estimate.

More than one fluid or leak

Engine oil, transmission fluid and hydraulic steering fluid come from different systems. Transmission repairs and hydraulic steering repairs need their own assessment when the fluid source points there.

A low engine oil level without a visible external leak needs a different investigation. Oil use inside the engine cannot be diagnosed from a clean parking space alone. Tell us how often you top up and whether you have noticed smoke, warning messages or a recent change in consumption.

Book a repeat-leak assessment

If oil appears after a recent service or repair, tell us what was done and when you first noticed it. The next step is to distinguish leftover residue from an active leak and establish the affected component. A repeat visit should produce a clearer repair plan, not another guess at the same gasket.

After an oil service

Bring the service details and describe whether the oil appeared immediately or after driving. The oil filter area, drain area and any accessible service points can be assessed alongside the rest of the leak path. Oil left on a surface during earlier work is different from fresh oil escaping under operation.

We identify what is leaking before quoting another service or repair. A new oil change does not by itself solve a leaking housing, damaged seal or unrelated leak higher on the engine.

After a gasket repair

Explain whether the same area became wet again or whether the oil now appears elsewhere. A new gasket does not establish that the surrounding cover, housing or adjacent components are sound. The previous invoice helps identify exactly which part was repaired and which seals were outside that job.

Ask us to explain the proposed change in approach. If a complete cover or a different component is now recommended, the quotation should state the finding that makes it necessary, rather than simply repeating the earlier work.

After major engine work

A car that has had substantial dismantling needs the repair history considered with the new evidence. Share the work completed, any parts supplied by you and any instructions given at handover. Do not assume that every oily area is linked to the same repair or that every old mark is a fresh leak.

We can discuss the checks needed to establish the current condition and identify the actual repair area. If access must be reopened, the estimate should explain the dismantling and any items that must be renewed during reassembly.

Send your Mercedes model, a photo if available and a short description of the earlier work. We can arrange the assessment and discuss whether the car should be brought in normally or whether recovery is the appropriate next step.

A small seal can involve substantial labor

The expensive part of an oil leak repair is often reaching the sealing surface. An accessible cover can be very different from an upper sump, buried cooler assembly or rear crankshaft seal, even when the replacement seal itself is inexpensive.

Engine layout, fitted equipment and the location of the leak all affect access. A quotation should say whether major parts need to be removed, which seals or assemblies are being replaced and what must be renewed during reassembly. This lets you compare complete work instead of comparing seal prices.

If another job is proposed while the area is open, ask whether it is necessary, due for service or an optional preventative replacement. We can separate those choices and identify any shared labor. Two faults do not always mean paying twice for the same dismantling.

For leaks requiring more extensive engine access, discuss the engine repair options with the technician before authorizing the work.

Check the repair and restore the correct oil level

After the agreed repair, the affected area is cleaned sufficiently to check for fresh leakage. We recheck the repaired area under appropriate operating conditions and confirm the oil level using the procedure for the vehicle. Where further monitoring is needed, we explain what to look for and when to return.

Oil lost during repair must be replaced with the correct specification. An engine oil and filter service can be quoted when it is due or required by the work; it is not automatically necessary for every minor external seal repair.

Tell us about any sealant additive already used, recent oil service or previous repair to the same area. That history can help explain residue or a repeat leak and prevents treating old evidence as a new fault.

When to stop driving

If an oil-pressure warning instructs you to stop, pull over safely and switch off the engine. Heavy active leakage, smoke or oil contacting hot parts also warrants stopping and arranging assistance. Call us to discuss recovery rather than continuing to drive with uncertain oil supply.

Identify the right oil-loss repair

A falling oil level needs an explanation even when there is no obvious stain on the floor. Tell us how often oil is added, whether you have seen a warning and whether the pattern has changed. We use that information to agree the right assessment instead of selling an external seal repair before a leak has been found.

A visible external leak

Find the escape point

A fresh wet area, drip or oil collecting underneath the car supports an external leak investigation. The first task is to identify the fluid and trace the source. An undertray can hold oil and change where the evidence appears, so a clean parking space is not proof that every component is dry.

Once the source is established, the quotation can identify the seal, gasket, housing or line to be repaired and the access required. That is the point at which the repair ranges above become useful for comparison.

Oil level falls without a clear leak

Investigate the oil loss

An external sealing job may not address oil being used inside the engine. The workshop needs to consider the operating history and relevant evidence before proposing further tests. A level warning alone does not identify a damaged seal, worn internal part or the amount of work needed.

We explain what the next assessment can establish and whether a separate engine investigation is required. Major mechanical work should follow useful findings, not an assumption based solely on how often the car needs topping up.

Where the evidence is mixed, diagnosis may need more than a single visual check. The initial report should say what is confirmed and what remains open. You can then decide whether to authorize the next test with a clearer understanding of its purpose, price and likely benefit.

Before you book

A few useful details before you book. Call us if your Mercedes needs a different check or repair.

Can you tell me the price before seeing the car?

We can discuss the planning ranges above once you tell us the model and what you have noticed. A fixed repair quote needs the leak source and access requirements confirmed. A photograph helps but cannot establish the full scope.

Will a stop-leak additive fix the problem?

An additive does not identify the source or repair a cracked housing, loose connection or damaged component. Tell us if one has already been used. We recommend assessing the actual leak before choosing a repair.

Does an oil smell always mean an engine oil leak?

No. Old service residue, another leaking fluid or a different fault can produce a smell. The workshop needs to inspect the source. Mention when the smell occurs and whether you also see smoke or a change in fluid level.

Can I just keep topping up the oil?

Topping up does not repair the leak or establish whether the car is safe to drive. Arrange an assessment. Stop safely and switch off if an oil-pressure warning instructs you to do so, or if there is heavy leakage or smoke.

How long will the repair take?

An accessible gasket and a major-access seal repair have different schedules. We confirm the expected time after identifying the source, parts and access required. Do not assume every leak is a same-day repair.
