Mercedes battery replacement prices
Typical main 12V battery replacement estimates run from AED 400–650 for an applicable conventional battery and AED 600–1,200 for many AGM applications. Larger-capacity AGM batteries can cost more.

Indicative complete totals include the new battery, standard installation, battery and charging checks, applicable setup and 5% VAT. The brand, rating and warranty are identified in the vehicle’s quotation. Wiring repairs, a failed alternator, extensive drain diagnosis, an auxiliary unit and high-voltage batteries are priced separately. These ranges are estimates rather than fixed offers.

The right battery for your Mercedes
A battery must fit the vehicle electrically and physically. Case dimensions, terminal position, the hold-down arrangement, venting, capacity and starting-current rating all matter. A battery that fits in the tray is not necessarily the correct replacement.
AGM, EFB and conventional flooded batteries are different technologies. We match the replacement to the vehicle’s specification and charging system. A vehicle specified for AGM should retain the appropriate AGM type rather than being downgraded to a conventional battery to reduce the headline price.
Many Mercedes models use AGM technology, but the badge alone is not enough to select the battery. Different generations and equipment can change the requirement. We can ask for a label photo or vehicle identification details later if those are needed to confirm the part.
When comparing prices, compare the same technology and rating. A small conventional battery offer is not a useful comparison with a larger AGM package. The written quote should name the battery being supplied so you know what the installed total covers.
A suitable branded replacement and a Mercedes-branded battery are separate purchasing options. Availability, specification and the stated warranty determine the choice; a familiar brand name alone does not establish suitability for your car.
Capacity and start-stop performance
Two batteries can have the same voltage and still suit different applications. The useful comparison includes their technology, capacity, starting performance and physical fit.
Capacity and starting current
The amp-hour rating describes stored capacity, while the starting-current rating describes a different aspect of performance. Neither number replaces checking the correct battery application. Choosing the highest number available is not a substitute for matching the vehicle.
A replacement quote should identify both the battery type and the relevant ratings. That lets you compare two offers accurately, including whether the fitting and required setup are included in each total.
Start-stop is temporarily unavailable
A start-stop function that remains inactive can be related to battery charge, but other operating conditions can also prevent it from working. The inactive feature alone is not a reliable battery-failure test.
Tell us whether the car also cranks slowly or loses charge. Those observations help decide whether a battery condition check is enough or whether a wider electrical assessment is appropriate.
Warranty and a repeat discharge
Keep the invoice and the battery’s stated warranty details. A recurring flat battery needs the reason checked: a defective battery, an unrelated drain and a charging fault are different findings. Warranty coverage follows the product and terms supplied, rather than every future no-start complaint automatically being a battery claim.
When the battery needs testing
Slow starting is a reason to test the battery. It does not prove that replacement will solve every starting problem.
Slow cranking or repeated clicking
A weak battery, poor connection or starter fault can produce a similar complaint. Battery condition and the supply path help separate those causes. If the battery is simply undercharged, its condition may need reassessment after appropriate charging.
Flat again after a recent replacement
Repeated discharge points toward a wider check. Charging performance, unwanted drain or an installation issue can leave a new battery unable to start the vehicle. Tell us when it was last replaced and how long the car was parked before the problem returned.
Warnings and electrical resets
Low voltage can accompany several messages or electronic resets. The warning text needs to be considered with the battery test and the affected functions. Clearing messages is not a substitute for identifying why the supply fell.
Age and physical condition
Battery age helps interpret its condition, but it is not a fixed replacement deadline. Heat exposure, usage and charging history differ. A swollen, leaking or damaged battery requires professional handling rather than another attempt to charge or jump-start it.
Main battery or another power fault?
A battery that keeps going flat
Book a broader electrical check when the car repeatedly loses charge. That is a different job from replacing a battery that has reached the end of its useful life.
A successful jump-start shows that additional starting power helped at that moment. It does not establish whether the battery, charging system or another electrical load caused the problem.
If charging output is at fault, alternator assessment can identify the repair needed. Replacing the battery while leaving the charging fault unresolved can produce the same no-start complaint again.
When the battery loses charge while parked, testing may need to follow the vehicle into its normal sleep state. Accessories, a module remaining awake or a wiring fault can require longer observation. Extended drain diagnosis is quoted separately from a standard battery fitting.
Tell us about recently fitted cameras, alarms or trackers and any recent repair that preceded the discharge. You do not need to disconnect equipment or collect electrical readings yourself.

This estimate concerns the main 12V battery only. Any separate 48V, auxiliary or traction-battery fault needs its own assessment and quotation.
Battery fitting and setup
Replacement involves more than exchanging two boxes. The battery needs to be isolated and handled appropriately for the vehicle, secured correctly and connected without damaging the terminals or nearby wiring.
During fitting, the relevant mounting and vent connections are checked along with accessible cables and terminals. Corrosion or a damaged connection can affect reliability even with a new battery. Any additional repair needs to be identified rather than hidden inside a battery offer.
Battery registration, adaptation or initialization depends on the fitted system. We carry out the procedure required for that vehicle; it is not accurate to describe every Mercedes battery as needing the same universal coding operation.
After installation, the relevant starting, charging and electrical functions are checked. If another fault remains, it needs to be explained separately rather than being treated as proof that the replacement battery is defective.
Your quote and invoice should identify the battery supplied and the applicable warranty terms. A warranty period can vary by brand and product, so a single duration should not be assumed for every battery option.
Auxiliary battery warnings
Some Mercedes vehicles have a separate auxiliary battery or a related backup-power component. A warning naming the auxiliary battery does not automatically mean that the main starting battery needs replacement.
When the car has more than one battery, the quotation needs to identify the unit being replaced. Two power-related warnings do not establish that both batteries have failed; each proposed replacement needs to follow the relevant assessment.
Book auxiliary battery assessment when that is the message shown. The fitted backup arrangement varies, and the repair should match the component actually present.
Hybrid and 48V systems
A hybrid can have a main 12V battery as well as a separate high-voltage traction battery. Some vehicles also use 48V equipment. These systems have different components, procedures and costs.
If the warning concerns the traction battery, arrange hybrid battery diagnosis. The main-battery prices above do not describe high-voltage repairs. Damaged high-voltage equipment should be left to appropriately equipped professionals.

How much does a Mercedes AGM battery cost to replace?
Many main AGM replacement packages are estimated at AED 600–1,200 including standard fitting, applicable setup and 5% VAT. Larger-capacity applications can be around AED 1,000–1,600. The battery specification, brand and access determine the vehicle’s quote.
Can I use a cheaper conventional battery instead of AGM?
A vehicle specified for AGM should use the appropriate AGM replacement. Battery technology affects charging and repeated cycling, so a lower-priced conventional battery is not an equivalent substitute. We check the vehicle’s required specification before supplying the unit.
Does every Mercedes need battery coding?
No single coding procedure applies to every model. The fitted battery-management system determines whether registration, adaptation or another initialization is required. The replacement package includes the applicable procedure stated for your vehicle.
Can a battery test tell whether I need a new battery?
Condition and starting-performance checks help establish whether replacement is justified. An undercharged battery may need appropriate charging before a reliable decision can be made. Repeated discharge also needs the charging system or an unwanted drain considered.
How long will the battery replacement take?

Do the prices include an auxiliary or hybrid battery?
No. The estimates concern the main 12V battery and the stated installation work. Auxiliary units, 48V equipment and high-voltage traction batteries need separate identification and pricing.

Should a low-mileage car still have its battery checked?
Yes, if it starts slowly, loses charge or has been parked for a long period. Low mileage does not describe battery condition by itself. A car used mainly for short journeys can have a different charging pattern from one driven regularly over longer distances, so testing is more useful than replacing solely by age or mileage.
Will replacing the battery fix all low-voltage warnings?
It may resolve warnings caused by a failed main battery, but a charging, wiring or separate component fault can remain. The relevant systems need checking after installation, and recurring messages should be assessed rather than repeatedly cleared.
