Mercedes Inspection in Dubai

Buying a used Mercedes or deciding what your own car needs next? Book a workshop inspection that brings the mechanical condition, electronic faults and likely repair costs into one clear picture.

Our Mercedes-trained technicians use STAR diagnostics and explain the findings in a written report. Health-check estimates start at AED 300; pre-purchase inspections at AED 500, excluding VAT.

Choose the inspection that fits your decision

Owner’s health check

AED 300–450

For an existing car when you want a condition overview before planning maintenance.

Visual checks of accessible mechanical components, tires and fluids, a diagnostic scan and a written findings summary. This is a broad condition check; tracing a specific intermittent fault may need additional diagnostic time.

Pre-purchase inspection

AED 500–850

For a Mercedes you are considering buying from a dealer or private seller.

Mechanical and electrical checks, visible body and interior condition, an underbody assessment where access permits, and a road test when the car is safe and permission is available. Ask for paint-depth assessment to be included in your agreed scope.

Extended assessment

AED 850–1,200

For a car with a specific concern or a more involved inspection brief.

Agree extra checks around the buying decision, such as a reported transmission issue or deeper evaluation of a leak. Engine compression tests, dismantling and high-voltage battery testing are separately scoped if required.

Planning estimates in AED, excluding VAT; these are not fixed MercGarage tariffs. Prices are per vehicle for the agreed inspection and report. Repairs, replacement parts, registration testing and unagreed specialist tests are excluded. These are alternative scopes, not charges to add together. The written quote confirms the vehicle-specific scope, total and VAT before work starts. The first-service offer is not deducted from these estimates.

Tell us the model and whether you are buying the car or checking one you own. We will help select the right inspection.

A report you can use to make a decision

A fault-code printout alone cannot tell you whether a used Mercedes is a sensible purchase. The useful result is an explanation of what was checked, what was found and what needs attention first.

Your findings should separate urgent concerns from work to budget for later. We explain visible wear, stored warnings and any area that needs further investigation. If a repair is recommended, request a separate estimate so you can compare the purchase price with the likely first round of work.

For an existing car, the same information helps you decide what to book now and what can be planned. A healthy component does not need replacing simply because another service is due.

  • Condition findings with the affected component identified.
  • Diagnostic results explained in everyday language.
  • Safety concerns and maintenance needs prioritized separately.
  • Access limits or tests that could not be completed clearly recorded.

What we inspect on your Mercedes

Engine, transmission and fluids

We check accessible areas for leaks, signs of deterioration and unusual operation. The scan and, where possible, road test help identify concerns that deserve a closer look. Internal engine condition cannot be confirmed by a visual inspection alone.

Brakes, tires and suspension

We assess visible brake wear, tire condition and accessible suspension and steering components. Pulling, vibration or a knocking noise needs to be considered alongside the physical checks, rather than attributed to one part immediately.

Cooling and cabin comfort

We check the cooling system visually and assess cabin AC operation. A cooling complaint or suspected refrigerant leak may require a separate test to locate the cause; an inspection is not an automatic AC recharge.

Body, interior and electrical equipment

For a buying inspection, visible panel condition, warning lights, switches, windows and cabin equipment help build a fuller picture. Any concern about previous repairs can be referred for a more detailed bodywork assessment.

Understand the repair priorities

How to read the findings · Illustrative priorities

Work to address before driving

A concern affecting safe use needs a clear explanation of the affected component and the next step. Significant brake damage, an active fluid loss or a steering concern should not disappear inside a long checklist. Ask whether the car needs further assessment or recovery before it is driven again. The report should explain the observed condition; a red label on its own is not enough.

Work to include in your budget

Visible wear can affect the value of a used Mercedes even when the vehicle is currently usable. Brake components, tires and service items should be considered alongside the purchase price. Ask for the recommended work to be itemized so a worn pair of components is not confused with an estimate for a complete system. You can then discuss that cost with the seller or plan it after purchase.

Findings that need a closer look

A stored warning or a damp area may need investigation before a repair can be priced. The report should distinguish a confirmed defect from a suspicion and identify the next test that would answer it. That avoids treating every fault code as a parts order or treating an unresolved concern as a clean bill of health.

Ask us to explain the findings while the car and report are available. We can discuss which repairs matter to your buying decision and which service items can be planned. The inspection remains useful whether you book repairs immediately or take time to decide.

Before you commit to a used Mercedes

Arrange the inspection while you can still make a purchase decision. Ask the seller to make the car available at our Al Quoz workshop and allow enough access for the agreed checks. Bring any service invoices or repair records you have; missing paperwork is useful context, not a reason to cancel the appointment.

Tell us what drew your attention during the viewing: a warning message, fresh oil underneath, uneven tires or a roof that hesitated. These details let the technician focus on the concern without overlooking the rest of the car.

A pre-purchase inspection describes the condition observed during the appointment. It cannot guarantee future reliability, uncover every concealed defect or establish a complete accident history from appearance alone. If a test is restricted, we explain the limitation before you rely on the result.

Our workshop inspection is separate from the RTA vehicle testing process. Book any required official test through the appropriate authorized testing service.

Set the right inspection brief

The inspection brief should reflect the Mercedes you are considering and how you intend to use it. Tell us which equipment matters to you and any concern raised during the viewing. We can confirm whether it belongs in the agreed inspection or needs a separate specialist test.

A daily driver

Service history and usable condition

Compare the records you have with the condition observed now. A recent oil-service invoice does not establish the condition of brakes, tires, suspension or cabin equipment. If you expect to use the car immediately, ask which findings could interrupt that plan and request an estimate for the first necessary work. We can separate overdue maintenance from a specific repair instead of bundling both into an unexplained total.

An AMG or highly equipped car

The fitted equipment

The value of an inspection is partly in checking the equipment you are paying for. Tell us about relevant features such as a convertible roof, adjustable suspension, driver-assistance warnings or unusually expensive brake hardware. The model badge does not establish the exact specification. We can identify where the agreed checks are sufficient and where further assessment is needed before you commit.

A car with a known concern

A question the inspection must answer

If the seller reports an oil leak, intermittent warning or previous repair, share that information before the appointment. Ask us what can be established without dismantling and what an additional test would involve. A general inspection should not be sold as proof of internal engine health, traction-battery capacity or every concealed accident repair when those tests were not part of the work.

For a private-sale inspection, agree access with the seller before booking. A car that cannot be lifted, started or road-tested may leave important questions unanswered. We record the restrictions so you can judge the report on what was actually checked. Start with the model and your buying concern; you can supply records or vehicle identification later when needed.

Turn the findings into a sensible next step

If the inspection finds a problem, you can ask us to quote the work in priority order. A documented oil leak repair or worn brake component can then be assessed on its own merits. We keep the inspection result useful even when you have not decided whether to authorize a repair.

Have a single recurring fault rather than a general condition question? Tell us when booking. Targeted electrical diagnosis or transmission assessment may be a better use of the appointment than a general inspection.

“I had my E-Class diagnosed here after being told I needed a new transmission elsewhere.”

Before you book

A few useful details before you book. Call us if your Mercedes needs a different check or repair.

How long does a Mercedes inspection take?

The time depends on the agreed package, access and any fault that needs investigation. Ask for the inspection slot and expected report timing when booking. A deeper assessment or restricted road test can require additional time.

Can I book before buying from a private seller?

Yes. Coordinate the workshop visit with the seller and confirm permission for the agreed checks and any road test. Tell us the Mercedes model and that it is a pre-purchase inspection; further vehicle details can follow.

Does the inspection include repairs?

No. The inspection estimate covers the agreed checks and report. Repairs, parts and additional tests are quoted separately, so you can decide what to authorize after reviewing the findings.

Can you inspect an AMG or hybrid Mercedes?

Contact us with the model and your inspection goal. The scope must suit the car. A general hybrid inspection does not include a full traction-battery capacity assessment unless that specialist test is expressly included.

Will you explain the report to me?

Yes. Our team explains the findings in plain language and can discuss which concerns need prompt attention, which need further diagnosis and which maintenance items can be planned.
