We inspect the relevant electrical connections and module area when a fault follows water entry. Drying the visible surface does not establish that the circuitry and terminals remain reliable. Corrosion or damage may persist after the function temporarily returns.
The repair plan must address how moisture reached the unit. Depending on the car and findings, that may involve seals, drainage, a damaged housing or another body leak. Replacing the SAM while leaving the water-entry problem active can expose the new part to the same conditions.
Separate module damage from damaged wiring
A connector or nearby loom can need its own repair. We explain whether the quoted work covers the module alone, the terminals and wiring, or both. That distinction is especially useful after a previous repair, because repeated symptoms do not automatically mean the replacement module is faulty.
Tell us about recent rain exposure, washing, a wet carpet or work near the relevant area. These details help guide the inspection. If you notice an electrical burning smell, smoke or heat from a damaged connection, stop using the car and call about safe recovery.
