Pad wear warning
Arrange a physical pad and disc inspection promptly. A sensor warning does not tell us the exact thickness of every pad or give a safe mileage allowance.
Front or rear. Matched to your Mercedes.
Brake wear message, persistent squeal, or pads due for replacement? Get the affected axle inspected, compare the fitted price, and approve the work before new parts go on.
Front pads from an estimated AED 550 per axle, including VAT. See prices and inclusions.

Start with the symptom
A wear message can lead to a straightforward pad change. Grinding, pulling, or a changed pedal needs a wider check before we quote pads alone.
Arrange a physical pad and disc inspection promptly. A sensor warning does not tell us the exact thickness of every pad or give a safe mileage allowance.
Pad material, glazing, hardware, or a sticking caliper can contribute. Replacing pads without checking the cause can leave the same noise or wear problem.
Metal contact can damage discs. A soft pedal, fluid leak, pulling with reduced control, or a red stop warning needs urgent assessment, not a routine pad booking.
Has stopping performance changed? Stop safely and arrange recovery. Follow the vehicle’s warning instructions. Call +971 56 464 6081 to discuss safe arrival rather than driving to test the brakes.
Fitted estimates, per axle
These estimates cover selected standard iron-disc systems with new quality replacement pads. One axle means both front wheels or both rear wheels. AMG and carbon-ceramic equipment need a separate quote.
Initial brake inspection, per vehicle, including VAT. Covers the reported concern, accessible pad, disc, and hydraulic checks, plus a relevant initial diagnostic scan when a warning is involved. Parts, recovery, and extended electrical or hydraulic tracing are separate. A standalone assessment is not automatically credited against later work.
AED 1,400–2,600 per axle, including VAT. Selected standard iron-disc applications with matching new pads, two discs, applicable sensor, fitting, and checks.
Pad-only estimates assume the discs and calipers remain serviceable. Hydraulic repairs, damaged hardware beyond the agreed fitting kit, recovery, and unrelated fault diagnosis are separate. Genuine Mercedes-Benz parts may change the total.
Know exactly what you are comparing.
Send the model, year, and axle if known. We confirm the parts brand, fitted work, any extra repairs, and total before approval.
Planning estimates, not fixed offers. Brake specification and inspection determine your written quote. The initial inspection range above applies before parts are approved; any additional testing or repair is quoted separately.

Choose the part, not just the label
Ask for a genuine-parts quote if that is your preference. The part reference must match the fitted brake package. A model badge alone is not enough to select the correct set.
A suitable replacement from an established manufacturer can offer another price option. The quotation should name the brand and product, rather than relying on the vague label “OEM quality.” Availability is confirmed for your vehicle.
Choose only a product approved for the actual brake application. A ceramic pad compound is not the same as a carbon-ceramic disc system. Neither a sporty label nor a higher price proves it suits your Mercedes.
Ask the quote to name the brand and product reference, availability, and written coverage. Where relevant, compare expected dust, noise, pedal feel, and initial-use guidance. Those tradeoffs matter more than a broad “premium” label.
Measured wear. Clear approval.
A scanner can help investigate warnings and support applicable service procedures. Remaining friction material is assessed physically. We do not treat a fault code as a pad-thickness measurement.
Confirm the brake equipment, inspect inner and outer pads, and assess disc condition and thickness against the applicable limits.
Separate worn pads from disc, caliper, sensor, or hydraulic concerns. Agree the affected axle, parts, total price, and expected timing.
Replace pads as an axle set, clean appropriate contact and mounting points, inspect the hardware, and replace approved related items where needed. Follow the required parking-brake or hydraulic-system procedure and applicable tightening instructions.
Check pedal response, relevant warnings, and brake operation. Record the supplied parts, explain any remaining findings, and provide the applicable initial-use and written coverage guidance.
Avoid paying for the wrong repair
Brake pads are wear parts. Worn friction material is replaced, not rebuilt. A disc or caliper recommendation should follow the findings, not an automatic add-on to every pad job.
| Inspection finding | Appropriate next step | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Worn pads, suitable discs | Replace the pad set on the affected axle and the applicable sensor. | Are both inner and outer pads checked? |
| Discs below limits or damaged | Quote two discs and matching pads for that axle. | What measurements or damage support replacement? |
| One pad much more worn | Check caliper movement and related components before fitting new pads. | What caused the uneven wear? |
| Pads contaminated by fluid or grease | Find and correct the source, then replace the affected axle set. | What must be repaired before clean new pads are fitted? |
| Soft pedal or fluid loss | Investigate the hydraulic concern and arrange safe arrival. | Which repair addresses the fault, beyond the pads? |
Disc machining is not a default part of this service. Where the discs need replacement, see our Mercedes brake rotor replacement service. A fresh pad set cannot correct a disc that is outside its service limits.
Understand the likely invoice
These hypothetical examples show how the work can differ. They are not completed customer jobs or fixed quotes. Each assumes standard iron-disc brakes and serviceable calipers, with new quality replacement parts.
2017 C200 · FRONT AXLE
Inspect both sides, fit a front pad set and applicable wear sensor, check hardware and caliper movement, then complete brake checks.
Parts AED 500 + labor and checks AED 250 + VAT AED 37.50.
2018 C300 · REAR AXLE
Fit a rear pad set and applicable sensor, carry out the required parking-brake service procedure, and check brake operation.
Parts AED 400 + labor and checks AED 250 + VAT AED 32.50.
2019 GLC300 · FRONT AXLE
Replace both front discs with a matching pad set and applicable sensor. Include fitting, caliper checks, and final brake checks.
Parts AED 1,450 + labor and checks AED 450 + VAT AED 95.
Timing and warranty: a straightforward stocked pad job may take about 1–2 workshop hours after approval. Disc work or additional faults can take longer. Appointment availability, parts supply, and written parts-and-labor warranty terms are confirmed with your quote.
Before and after replacement
Tell us if pads were recently changed, one wheel becomes unusually hot, or the same noise returned. A sticking mechanism, contamination, or incorrect fitting can require more than another pad set.
New friction parts need appropriate initial use. Follow the instructions for the fitted components and the workshop’s advice. Grinding, pulling, reduced braking, or a soft pedal should not be dismissed as normal bedding-in.
Driving pattern, pad material, and brake equipment affect wear. Include pad and disc checks in routine maintenance. A dashboard warning does not monitor every possible brake fault.
Have the applicable sensor, wiring, and stored fault checked. Do not assume another set of pads is required, and do not keep clearing a warning without identifying its cause.

Front and rear are not interchangeable
Start with your model and year. We may request the VIN or part details to distinguish brake packages before ordering. You do not need to identify the pad shape yourself.
C-Class, E-Class, GLC, and other ranges can have different calipers and disc sizes within the same model year. Front and rear pads are quoted separately. Both axles do not automatically need replacement together.
AMG Line trim does not by itself identify the brake hardware. Larger performance systems and carbon-ceramic brakes require their own parts and pricing, outside the standard estimates above.
Some rear-pad jobs require a service mode. Older SBC-equipped vehicles need the applicable hydraulic-system precautions. These systems make correct workshop procedures essential.
Regenerative braking does not remove the need to inspect friction brakes. Pads, disc condition, and the fitted brake package still matter. Confirm compatibility rather than assuming a petrol-model set will fit.
At home, you can note the exact warning and recent symptoms. Brake disassembly, system deactivation, and hydraulic work belong with a suitably equipped technician.
Useful proof after the work
A useful handover should help you understand what was replaced, what was inspected, and what still needs monitoring. Keep the written record with the vehicle’s service documents.
The affected axle, pad brand or product reference, applicable sensor, and any approved related hardware should be identifiable on the invoice or supporting record.
Ask for the inner and outer pad condition, disc assessment, and any caliper or hardware observation that influenced the recommendation. If discs were added, the reason should be clear.
The handover should cover warning status, relevant pedal and brake-operation checks, initial-use guidance, and any separate finding that was not included in the approved work.
Confirm the total matches the approved scope, keep the written parts-and-labor coverage supplied for the job, and ask immediately if any warning, noise, or recommendation is unclear.

Before your visit
Prices, warnings, parts, and what to expect at the workshop.
Selected standard front pad jobs are estimated at AED 550–1,100 per axle and rear pad jobs at AED 500–1,000, including VAT. These cover a quality replacement pad set, applicable sensor, fitting, and checks. Genuine parts, AMG equipment, damaged discs, or additional faults can change the quote.
No. Inspect both axles, but replace the pads that need replacement. Pads are fitted as a matched set across the affected axle, not as a single-wheel replacement. The other axle may remain serviceable.
A wear warning needs prompt inspection, and there is no universal safe distance remaining. Follow your vehicle’s instructions and call with the exact message. If braking changes, grinding occurs, fluid leaks, or a red warning tells you to stop, stop safely and arrange recovery.
No. A wear message can involve pads, a sensor, or its wiring. ABS, ESP, parking-brake, and hydraulic warnings can have separate causes. Diagnose any remaining warning rather than repeatedly clearing it.
No. Existing discs may remain suitable if their condition and measurements meet the applicable requirements. Discs below service limits or with significant damage need replacement. Ask for the findings before approving the combined job.
The fitted system determines which sensor is required. A worn, activated, or damaged sensor should be replaced as applicable. Sensor wiring also needs checking if the warning remains after the correct repair.
A straightforward pad job can take around 1–2 workshop hours once the vehicle is assessed, the work is approved, and the correct parts are available. This is a planning allowance, not a guaranteed while-you-wait slot. Extra repairs or special-order parts extend the schedule.
Follow the initial-use guidance supplied for the fitted product and the workshop’s instructions. Unless safety requires it, avoid repeated heavy braking during the advised bedding period. Grinding, pulling, a soft pedal, reduced braking, or a warning that stays on or returns should be reported rather than treated as normal bedding.
