Choose the appropriate service

Test first. Compare the right options.

A warning message or reduced electric range does not, by itself, prove that the complete battery needs replacing. The useful starting point is identifying the car, recording the symptom and establishing the affected system.

01

Battery diagnosis

For a hybrid warning, charging problem or reduced electric operation. Ask for the findings behind any replacement recommendation, including relevant fault codes and available battery data. A scan alone should not be presented as proof of every cell’s condition.

02

Repair assessment

If testing identifies a serviceable supporting component or a repairable battery fault, request a separate repair scope. Cooling, connections or control faults can require a different solution. Repair suitability depends on the pack design, condition and an appropriate procedure.

03

Replacement quotation

Where replacement is justified, compare an exact compatible pack by condition, included work and written terms. New genuine, remanufactured, reconditioned and used units are different purchasing options; their availability must be checked for your specific Mercedes.

General pricing

Mercedes hybrid battery replacement cost

Pack size, generation, part number and condition can change the price substantially. The ranges below retain MercGarage’s published planning guidance for selected applications. They are provisional estimates, not current stock or fixed-price offers.

All ranges exclude VAT, recovery, unrelated repairs and unlisted coding or cooling-system work. The first two replacement ranges include their stated standard installation and checks; do not add the S400 labour row to them automatically. Ask whether an exchange/core return is required and whether diagnosis is credited against authorised work. The final written quotation must show any extra charges and the VAT-inclusive total.

Request a battery quote for your Mercedes

Send the exact model, year and dashboard message. Add an existing diagnostic report if available so the workshop can assess the right next step.

Avoid the wrong battery quote

12V, 48V and high-voltage batteries are different

“Mercedes battery replacement” can describe several unrelated jobs. A conventional starting-battery price should not be used to estimate a hybrid traction-battery replacement, and a hybrid warning should not automatically be sold as a failed high-voltage pack.

If the enquiry concerns the ordinary low-voltage battery, our Mercedes battery replacement service is the relevant starting point. For hybrid or charging warnings, send the exact message instead of choosing a battery from the badge alone.

12V supply

The low-voltage battery supports vehicle electronics and can affect starting or system operation. Its condition may need checking during diagnosis. Replacing it is a different scope from removing and fitting a high-voltage hybrid pack.

48V mild-hybrid system

A mild-hybrid battery and its associated components need the appropriate vehicle-specific assessment. An EQ Boost or mild-hybrid description does not establish that the car uses the same replacement battery as a plug-in hybrid. Confirm the system before comparing prices.

High-voltage hybrid pack

A hybrid traction battery works with the electric drive. Capacity, architecture, cooling arrangements and replacement procedures vary widely between generations. Full battery-electric Mercedes models also need their own assessment and are not covered by the low-end hybrid estimates above.

Diagnosis before commitment

What the replacement decision should be based on

The purpose of testing is to explain the symptom and support a repair decision. Ask for the findings in plain language: what failed, what was checked and why the proposed work addresses that fault.

01 / Symptoms

When does the problem occur?

Record the dashboard wording and whether the issue appears while starting, driving or charging. Note recent repairs, long periods parked and any charging equipment involved. These details help distinguish an intermittent operating problem from a repeatable battery fault.

02 / Evidence

What do the tests show?

Relevant fault codes, available battery measurements and checks of supporting systems should inform the recommendation. Ask what the data can establish and what still needs investigation. A generic “battery health” percentage is not automatically a complete diagnosis or a guarantee of remaining life.

03 / Scope

What needs replacement?

The proposed work should name the failed assembly and the replacement condition. If supporting hardware also needs attention, request separate lines explaining why. Replacing a battery without addressing a confirmed related fault can leave the original complaint unresolved.

If a warning says to stop

Follow the vehicle’s instruction, stop safely and contact the workshop or recovery provider. Do not open the pack or handle high-voltage cables. Report collision damage, flooding, unusual heat or smoke when arranging assistance; these situations require appropriate handling.

Compare battery condition

Know what you are buying

The lowest price is not a complete comparison. Ask for the supplier, exact part reference, condition, documented testing and written coverage. Confirm suitability and availability before committing to any option.

New assembly

New genuine

A new genuine Mercedes-Benz assembly offers a different starting condition from a previously used unit. Request the matching part number, supplier terms and installation scope. Availability and cost vary, and a new-pack quotation should not be inferred from a reconditioned-pack headline.

Rebuilt assembly

Remanufactured

Ask what the supplier’s remanufacturing process includes, what was replaced and how the unit was tested. The description alone does not establish a uniform standard. Clarify who provides coverage, what labour is covered and how a future claim would be handled.

Previously used assembly

Reconditioned or used

These terms can cover very different histories. A reconditioned unit may have received selected repairs, while a used unit may simply have been removed from another vehicle. Ask for test evidence, compatibility and stated limitations; do not assume either performs like a new battery.

Existing pack retained

Targeted repair

A repair may be worth assessing where the design, fault and overall condition support it. Ask how the rest of the pack was evaluated and what the repair covers. A universal promise to replace a few cells or restore every battery to new condition would be misleading.

The right fit

Model and generation change the quotation

A C-Class, E-Class, GLE or S-Class hybrid badge does not identify one universal replacement pack. Production generation, hybrid system and fitted part reference must be checked. An imported car may require extra specification checks before an accurate comparison is possible.

Owners of that specific model can also review our Mercedes S400 hybrid battery service. Its pricing should not be applied to every newer S-Class plug-in hybrid.

C-Class and E-Class hybrids

Confirm the full model designation and year. Earlier hybrid and later plug-in systems can differ substantially, so the entry estimate above is limited to eligible reconditioned applications. A larger or different-generation pack needs its own price and availability check.

GLE and S-Class hybrids

Ask for the battery part reference and whether the price covers an entire assembly or a narrower repair. The S400 new-battery parts estimate is specifically labelled for that reason. Later high-capacity systems should not be priced from a generic S-Class range.

Modified or previously repaired vehicles

Supply prior battery invoices and diagnostic reports if available. Previous replacement parts, coding or repair work can affect the investigation. This information helps the workshop confirm the fitted system instead of relying only on the original sales description.

The first two examples already include standard fitting and checks. The third separates parts, labour and diagnosis. Request one final written quotation showing applicable taxes and every agreed extra before approving replacement.

Before approving the job

Agree the full replacement scope

A useful quotation names more than the battery. It identifies what is included in removal, installation, any required commissioning and post-work checks. Ask which findings support replacement and which separate faults remain outside the job.

Check any existing manufacturer or supplier battery coverage before paying for replacement. Eligibility and exclusions depend on the vehicle and policy. No single warranty duration can be promised here for every new, reconditioned or repaired battery.

  1. Compatibility and part condition

Confirm the part reference, new or used condition, supplier testing and any exchange requirement. Ask whether a deposit is refundable and what condition the returned pack must meet.

  2. Coding, cooling and testing

Request the required vehicle-specific commissioning and checks as named items. Clarify whether associated fluids, seals, coding or supporting-system repairs are included or separately priced.

  3. Timing and written terms

Separate parts lead time from workshop installation time. Confirm the proposed handover checks, invoice detail and coverage for both the part and labour. Avoid planning around a same-day promise before the parts and scope are established.

Plan your workshop visit

Discuss your hybrid battery in Al Quoz

MercGarage is operated by AMF AUTO SERVICES LLC at 39, Al Quoz 4, Dubai. Call +971 56 464 6081 or send the exact model, year and dashboard message on WhatsApp. Confirm the appointment and how the vehicle should reach the workshop before travelling.

Tell us whether the car starts, enters its normal ready state and charges as expected where applicable. Share an existing diagnostic report if you have one. If the vehicle displays a stop instruction or cannot be driven normally, discuss recovery instead of assuming it is safe to drive in.

Read recent workshop feedback alongside the proposed battery scope. Communication, clear approval of additional work and written handover information are useful things to assess when choosing where to book a substantial repair.

Frequently asked questions

Hybrid battery questions

Answers to the questions that matter before you approve diagnosis or a replacement battery.

How much does Mercedes hybrid battery replacement cost in Dubai?

Published planning ranges start at AED 6,500–9,500 before VAT for selected reconditioned replacements on eligible older C/E hybrids. They do not cover every model or a new genuine pack. For an applicable S400, the indicative new genuine battery part is AED 21,000–24,000, with fitting and other agreed work separate. Confirm the actual vehicle and scope.

Does a hybrid warning mean the whole battery needs replacing?

No. A warning is a reason to investigate, not proof that the complete pack has failed. Battery condition, low-voltage supply, charging, cooling and control faults may need to be distinguished. Ask for the findings supporting the proposed repair or replacement before approving a pack.

Is a 12V or 48V battery the same as a hybrid traction battery?

No. These are different systems with different parts, procedures and costs. A conventional battery quote cannot be used to price a high-voltage pack. Supply the exact model and dashboard message so the workshop can identify which system needs attention.

Should I choose a new or reconditioned Mercedes hybrid battery?

Compare the exact compatible part, documented condition, testing, included labour and written coverage. A new genuine assembly and a previously used or reconditioned unit are different options. Reconditioning descriptions vary, so ask what was done and tested. Availability and suitability must be confirmed for the actual vehicle.

Can a Mercedes hybrid battery be repaired instead of replaced?

Sometimes a targeted repair can be assessed, depending on the design, identified fault and overall pack condition. A supporting-system fault may also need a different repair. Suitability must follow diagnosis; a blanket promise to repair every pack or restore it to new condition is not reliable.

How long does hybrid battery replacement take?

The total turnaround depends on diagnosis, compatible-part availability, installation and the required commissioning and checks. Separate parts lead time from workshop time when comparing estimates. Confirm the expected handover after the scope and part are established rather than assuming a same-day replacement.

Can I drive with a hybrid battery warning?

Follow the exact vehicle warning and owner’s manual. If instructed to stop, stop safely and arrange assistance. If the car cannot operate normally, contact the workshop before driving. Do not open the pack or handle high-voltage cables. Report collision damage, flooding, unusual heat or smoke when seeking help.

What warranty comes with a replacement hybrid battery?

Coverage depends on the supplier, battery condition and agreed job. Request written part and labour terms, exclusions and the claims process before approval. No universal warranty duration is stated for every option on this page. Check any existing manufacturer or supplier coverage before paying for replacement.
