Initial diagnostic assessment
Fault scan and initial evaluation of the reported concern. Further road testing, electrical measurements or dismantling require a separately agreed scope. No automatic repair-credit assumption.
Front brake pads

AMG brakes and suspension
Quoted after checking the affected axle, disc size, damper type and worn components. A pad change and an axle overhaul have different costs.

Start with the driving complaint
We review the warning, when the symptom appeared and whether it occurs cold or after the car warms up. Recent repairs or modifications can be useful context, but you can book without a technical explanation.

Earlier CLA45 or later CLA45 S?
CLA45 generations and service differences
Earlier CLA45 with seven-speed AMG DCT
The C117 CLA45 combines the M133 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a seven-speed AMG dual-clutch transmission and 4MATIC. Engine access, cooling parts and transmission consumables differ from the later car. A CLA250 with AMG styling is not the same powertrain.
When assessing an older car, we consider previous work alongside current condition. A mileage reading does not, by itself, prove that the turbo, clutch or suspension needs replacing. Existing leaks and worn mountings should be identified before attributing every vibration to the gearbox.
Later CLA45 and CLA45 S
The C118 CLA45 introduced the M139 2.0-liter engine, an eight-speed AMG DCT and 4MATIC+. Its rear-drive unit and control system differ from the earlier generation. CLA45 and CLA45 S brake, driveline and equipment details also vary by market and specification.
Cooling, driveline and electronic work must match the actual vehicle. We check the fitted components before selecting parts or fluids. A registration year, imported badge or previous replacement gearbox may not tell the full story, so identification is handled during preparation for the repair.

Brakes, tires and suspension belong together
An AMG can feel unsettled for several reasons. We look at the conditions that trigger the complaint and inspect the parts that influence grip, stopping and steering.
Match the fitted AMG brakes
Disc diameter, caliper type and axle matter when comparing quotes. The same CLA badge does not guarantee the same brake parts.
Brake wear and disc condition
Pad thickness is only part of the inspection. Disc wear, heat damage, caliper movement and fluid condition affect the repair choice. The quote identifies the axle and brake specification so a front brake job is not mistaken for a complete four-wheel package.
Knocking, harshness and body movement
We assess control arms, bushings, joints, mountings and dampers according to the symptom. Adaptive dampers, where fitted, require compatible replacements. Replacing every suspension component at once is not automatically necessary.
Wheels, tires and all-wheel drive
Wheel damage, tire condition and unsuitable fitment can affect how the car drives. Driveline noises also need separation from wheel-bearing or suspension faults. Alignment is completed when appropriate after required mechanical repairs, rather than used to disguise worn parts.

AC that holds its temperature
If cooling fades in traffic, we assess airflow and the refrigerant circuit. If one side stays warm, temperature controls may need attention. Compressor replacement is recommended only when the diagnosis supports it; a recharge is not a lasting repair for an unresolved leak.
A battery that suits the car

Electrical faults explained
Intermittent displays, sensor warnings and multiple alerts may share a power-supply problem. We test the affected function and supporting circuits. Replacing a module or updating software is a separate decision, not an automatic addition to a routine service.

A useful maintenance plan for your AMG
Service A and Service B organize scheduled work, but the due items depend on your vehicle’s maintenance information and previous servicing. Time-based work still matters when annual mileage is low. A new warning deserves attention even when the service display has not reached its next reminder.
Oil and filters
We select engine oil by the applicable Mercedes approval and fill quantity. The same viscosity label does not establish suitability for every CLA45. Our CLA45 oil-change service provides a focused appointment when that is the work due.
Dual-clutch and driveline fluids
Gearbox and all-wheel-drive maintenance follow the fitted system’s requirements. A fluid service should use the specified method, service parts and level checks. Flushing, adaptation resets and software changes are not universal requirements at every visit. Cooling and ignition
Coolant condition, leaks, air-filter condition and spark-plug replacement are reviewed against the schedule and symptoms. An engine misfire needs assessment rather than a promise that fresh plugs will resolve every case. Cooling repairs are priced by the component and circuit affected.

Can an oil service fix a jerking DCT gearbox?

Do you service both earlier and newer CLA45 models?
Yes. The earlier seven-speed and later eight-speed AMG DCT arrangements need their own service information and parts. CLA45 S and imported specifications are checked individually when preparing the work.
Should I replace the turbo if the car loses power?
Only after testing identifies the cause. Air leaks, boost controls, ignition and fuel supply can produce similar complaints. If replacement is appropriate, we explain the unit, fitting parts and any related repair needed.
How long will the workshop need my car?
For planning, allow about 1–2 hours for minor service and 3–5 hours for expanded maintenance, subject to parts and appointment availability. Fault diagnosis may require longer observation or testing. Confirm the handover time when booking; these estimates are not guaranteed turnaround times.
Can I arrange free pickup in Dubai?
Free pickup and delivery within Dubai are available by arrangement. Tell us your location and preferred timing. If the car cannot be driven safely, mention its condition so suitable recovery and any separate charge can be confirmed. Free ordinary collection does not automatically include specialist recovery.
Can I book a modified CLA45 for diagnosis?
Yes. Describe the concern and mention any recent modification you know about. Supporting invoices are useful if available, but they are not required to make the initial booking. The workshop assesses the fitted setup before recommending work.
